The Barcelona Film Commission presents their new website

The site is an attempt to continue promotion of the audio-visual industry and contains all the information needed to film in Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia

The Barcelona Film Commission has placed a new website (click here) at the disposition of audio-visual professionals throughout the world. Intuitive, accessible and always up to date, the site contains all information of interest regarding regulations and logistics required for trouble-free, painless filming in Catalonia as well as the correct processes for requesting specific filming licenses for the city of Barcelona.

The website has been completely overhauled and includes a directory of more than 900 audio-visual-sector businesses and another with a selection of more than 1100 locations, in addition to other useful tools. There is also information on regulations governing filming, contact information for sector organisations in Catalonia and the rest of Spain and a database containing film information and documents of interest to people in the sector.

Among other novelties, the website includes a dynamic section dedicated to news and videos of shoots in Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia. The new website arrives at precisely the moment when filming activity in the city over the first three months of the year has registered a more than 50% increase over the same period last year (2102 productions as compared to 1339), including cinema, advertising and other genres.

In the first trimester, for example, local productions have included Traces of Sandalwood, Sweet Home, Sólo Química, Requisitos para ser una persona normal and Anacleto: Agente Secreto, while other productions have included Bollywood films and documentaries such as L’endemà, Glance-Up, Injustícia Express and La Nit de Sant Joan.
