Bumayé TV, a platform for interactive audiovisual work
A project to enrich and explore the possibilities of moving image on the network
It is neither an accommodation of a platform for audiovisual viewing nor a social network based on video. Bumayé TV
goes further: it intends to transfer interactivity and hypertext, already usual on online text, to the world of moving image. Just as well as we from and to content when a concept has a link, Bumaye TV commits to achieving the same in audiovisual format.
‘This proposal takes concrete form with the creation of a web platform which will enable making and viewing of 100% interactive audiovisual content, thanks to the accommodation of video player software, developed elsewhere, which allow total hyperlinking and harmonious interconnection with other related contents’, people responsible explained.
‘We intend to make these new tools accessible to the audiovisual sector in Barcelona so as to introduce richer and more dynamic ways of communication, useful in a wide range of fields, such as entertainment, education or advertising.
Videos accessed by the public at Bumayé TV might be of any genre and subject, although the project’s creators consider it ‘specially useful for fiction webseries and short educational pieces’.
‘It will initially exhibit a sample of several audiovisual projects designed and created with differents interactive technologies. These contents will have the hallmark of several producing companies from the city and will offer this kind of work to companies and organizations willing a two-way interactive communication with their public.
Bumayé TV is an initiative which was granted on Information Technologies by Direcció de Creativitat i Innovació in their last call. In this case they were granted with 5,710€ to realise their project.
