Great films for the final days of CosmoNits at CosmoCaixa

This cinema series is drawing to a close with Your name, Inception, Alice in Wonderland and The Matrix Reloaded.

Science and film have gone hand-in-hand since the very beginning of the seventh art. Throughout history, thousands of films have been made using science as a plot point, creating extraordinary fictional universes. CosmoCaixa is back with its CosmoNits film series, coinciding with its exhibition Mirrors: Inside and Outside Reality, with films all sorts of audiences will enjoy, that were blockbusters when they first came out. The showings started on 4 July and there are still four films left to see. Beforehand, each film is introduced by a live concert. And to make the evening an even more memorable experience, with the same ticket, you can visit the museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibition.

The films will be shown every Thursday through 8 August, starting at 10 pm at CosmoCaixa. The concerts start one hour earlier. On 18 July, we will get the chance to see Your Name, by Makoto Shinkai, dubbed in Catalan, with a concert by The Secret Investments. The following Thursday, 25 July, they will be showing one of Christopher Nolan’s most memorable films, Inception, in its original version with subtitles in Spanish, with a performance by the Wild Goats. The most kid-friendly session will be on 1 August, with Alice in Wonderland, in Spanish, and The Flat Pack in concert. The series will finish off with a classic science fiction film, The Matrix Reloaded, by Lilly and Lana Wachowski, with Rocco Papìa performing beforehand.

Tickets cost €6. More information and tickets are available on the museum website.
