David Ramirez

First concert by US singer-songwriter David Ramirez in Barcelona

The performance will be on 12 September at the former Estrella Damm Brewery.

Despite having four studio albums to his credit, Austin based singer-songwriter David Ramirez has yet to play a concert in Barcelona or, indeed, in Catalonia or Spain. But that’s all going to change on the evening of Wednesday 12 September, when he will be appearing at the former Estrella Damm Brewery as part of the tour to promote his Sam Kassirer-produced  2017 album We're Not Going Anywhere, which has a somewhat more poppish slant than his previous work.

A US singer-songwriter with Mexican roots, Ramirez has been hailed by critics for his voice and for the evocative, melancholic but fundamentally optimistic outlook expressed by his lyrics, many of which can be read as a comment on contemporary American politics.

The doors of the former Estrella Damm Factory will open at 8.15pm, but Ramirez will be preceded by local musician Marta Delmont, who will be playing songs from her debut album, Silver Blaze, which was produced by Joana Serrat.
