The Disseny Hub Barcelona hosts the MID Design Ideas Market powered by the BCD Barcelona Design Centre

The Disseny Hub Barcelona continues to host events with a major interest in creation and innovation, as with the 4th edition of MID Design Ideas Market which seeks 100 creative “start-ups” seeking to access an international investors network.

Barcelona has emerged as a major axis for the coming together of a variety that draws on the full spectrum of creativity and innovation because ideas flow and combine together to generate value: technological, scientific, social, artistic and economic value.

BCD Barcelona Design Centre is organizing the fourth edition of MID Design Ideas Market, a program promoting creative enterprises by creating business opportunities for entrepreneurs, creators, companies and investors. The objective of the MID, which in the first three editions received about 800 innovative proposals, is to convert the participating projects into products or market services, whether through a company that acquires them either via an investor that supports entrepreneurs by helping to create a business project or by financing through crowdfunding.

The 2014 edition of the MID is divided into two sessions: the first session is called “Company seeks investor” and targets creative start-ups seeking investment and/or financing. The second session is called “Creative idea looking for a company” and is aimed at creators who want to present their projects to companies. Entrepreneurs, who can register until 17 April, will have the opportunity to present their companies on the Keiretsu Forum, which is a network of international investors that has more than $200m invested in over 25 companies organized by BCD in partnership with Keiretsu Forum. They  promote business oportunities and access to financing entrepreneurs whose innovation and creativity stand out in business ventures. The investment forum, which will take place on 10 June at the Disseny Hub Barcelona, is one of the main activities on the programme for Barcelona Design Week 2014.

The MID Design Ideas Market features the special support of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Barcelona City Council and ENISA (Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism).
