Essential tours of the works in the Frederic Marès Museum

The essential tours through the Frederic Marès

The museum resumes some of its activities and offers three guided tours during the month of July.

The following three Saturdays of the month the Museu Frederic Marès will offer three different guided tours to enjoy what the museum hides, essential pieces that you might have missed if you have ever been there. The first, 'The Masterpieces of the Frederic Marès Museum' will take place on July 11th and will display the most outstanding works of its sculpture collection, one of the most important in Spain. On Saturday 18th, the visit will be 'Unusual objects from the collector's office', where you will take a tour of what Marès called the 'sentimental museum', a collection of very diverse objects that portrays the everyday bourgeois life of the 19th century.

Finally, 'A Museum out of a Novel' will take place on Saturday 25th, a visit that connects the museum's objects with different authors and texts from around 1900. In this immersive tour you will get to know some of the realities of the city surrounded by the physical evidence of that time.

The three visits will take place at 11.00 a.m. and, to guarantee your safety, they will have a reduced capacity. The price per person ranges from 5 to 6.50 euros and you can buy a ticket on the museum's website or make a reservation at reservesmuseumares@bcn.cat.
