Showing the private collections of ten artists

These works are on display at CaixaForum Barcelona, which completes the exhibition with several works by these artists.

From November 24, the exhibition Gods, magicians and wise men. The artists’ private collections, will be on display in CaixaForum Barcelona. It is a proposal to get to know some of the works of art collected by a dozen artists. The exhibition also includes pieces by these artists that are part of the Contemporary Art Collection of "La Caixa" Foundation.

The names present at CaixaForum, both with their own works and with works from their private collections, are Rosa Amorós, Miquel Barceló, Georg Baselitz, Luis Feito, Joan Hernández Pijuan, Manolo Millares, Joan Miró, Susana Solano, Hiroshi Sugimoto and Antoni Tàpies. The exhibition is curated by Àngels de la Mota and Maite Borràs Pàmies, and they head the programme with a quote by the sociologist and cultural critic Jean Baudrillard: "The environment of private objects and the fact of possessing them is as essential as it is imaginary in our lives. As essential as dreams." In this sense, one of the objectives of Gods, magicians and wise men is that, thanks to the works on display, visitors to the exhibition can learn more about the imagination, interests and obsessions, as well as the creative processes, of the artists who own the respective collections. There will be guided tours and workshops related to the exhibition and lectures by the curators on the opening day at 7 pm.

Gods, magicians and wise men. The artists' private collections can be visited until April 2 next year. For more information, click on this link.
