Flic Barcelona kicks off

For two weeks the Barcelona Design Museum will host the Children’s and Young People’s Literature and Arts festival

Flic is an iterant literature and arts festival for children and young people that will visit a number of towns and cultural spaces over a period of three months. From the 14th to the 18th of July boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12 can participate in the festival in the Barcelona Design Museum.

The objective of Flic is to introduce literature and art to people of all ages and foster creativity by focussing on innovation and experimentation as a means of disseminating and promoting literature.  The festival includes international initiatives and pays particular attention to encouraging literary activities in locations where these are uncommon.

The festival includes Flic Family, Flic Education and Flic Professional. Flic Family is a cultural experiences programme directed at audience of all ages. Flic Education consists of activities designed to promote literary culture in children of school age, and Flic Professional is an attempt to encourage reflection and the exchange of experiences among professionals who teach and create literature and promote innovation and experimentation among young creators.

During the festival week participants will have the opportunity to enjoy creating literature under the guidance of Roser Rosa and with the participation of a different genre artist each day. The invited artists include Inge Nouws, Julia Pelletier, Mercè Galí, El bombeto, Akewuele and Tantàgora.
