The permanent exhibition is an attempt to acquaint visitors with all aspects relating to the life and ideas of the Modernist artist
Antoni Gaudí is one of the symbols of Barcelona, and his legacy, which includes masterpieces such as the La Pedrera building and Park Güell, have contributed to Barcelona’s status as one of the world capitals of Modernism. In a permanent exhibition entitled El taller de Gaudí (Gaudí’s studio), the Museu Diocesà now presents a collection of the tools and materials used by the artist and offers an in-depth insight into the figure of the artist himself.
The exhibition has been compiled thanks to the efforts and research carried out by some the world’s most prestigious museums and consists of a collection of roughly one hundred original works in an attempt to gain an insight into the thought processes of one of the most revolutionary architects of modern times.
Gaudí’s studio is divided into ten sections which include critical interpretations, his own words, his studio in Colonia Güell and his relationship with Eusebi Güell, his collaboration with other professionals and the Sagrada Família as well as other questions fundamental to the understanding of the importance of the figure of Gaudí to the history of architecture and to that of art in general.
The exhibition Gaudí’s studio is on display permanently in the Museu Diocesà and entry is priced at 6 euros. More information is available here.
