Kiti Mánver (on the left) and Juana Acosta in a scene from the film 'El inconveniente'

A perfect house... with a 'little' problem

El inconveniente, starring Juana Acosta and Kiti Mánver and directed by Bernabé Rico, will be screened at the Auditori Sant Martí.

One of the last activities of the year at the Auditori Sant Martí will be the screening of the film El inconveniente on the evening of 22 December. Part of the Pantalla Barcelona film series, it will start at 7 pm and tickets, which are free of charge, can be booked in advance online by calling +34 93 256 57 60 or sending an email to suport.auditorisantmarti@gmail.com.

The feature film was released in 2020. It is directed by Bernabé Rico and scripted by Rico himself alongside Juan Carlos Rubio, author of the play of the same name from which the film was adapted. It has a cast of luxury actors, such as José Sacristán, but all the weight of the plot falls on the two lead actresses, Juana Acosta and Kiti Mánver. It tells the story of a young woman who finally finds the perfect home: it's a spacious, bright and cheap house! However, there is a "small" drawback: she will have to live with the current owner, an 80-year-old woman with a rather special character, until she dies. The young woman does not object to this at first, but the co-living begins to deteriorate, especially when the new tenant notices the "bad habits" of her roommate and the iron health she seems to enjoy. She begins to wish her dead, but the plot, always with a touch of comedy, moves towards a noble and sensitive outcome. The film received several nominations, especially for Mánver's role, who won the Best Actress Award at the Malaga Festival while the feature took home the Audience Award.
