Pantalla Barcelona takes a critical and social view of the city

The ninth edition of this cycle will have a programme of complementary activities consisting of talks with film professionals and open workshops.

Four documentaries and five fiction films will be the backbone of the ninth edition of the Pantalla Barcelona film series, in which eleven venues of the Barcelona Civic Centre Network will take part. The feature films will be screened between 27 October and 28 March, and all of them have in common the fact that they focus on the city from a critical and social point of view.

Pantalla Barcelona is bringing the best films created and produced in Barcelona and Catalonia closer to the neighbourhoods, with a programme drawn up in collaboration with the participating centres. ou will be able to enjoy the documentaries Cantando en las azoteas (Enric Ribes, 2022), City for sale (Laura Álvarez, 2018), Robin Bank (Anna Giralt, 2022) and Waiting for Barcelona (Juho-Pekka Tanskanen, 2018), and the fiction films El inconveniente (Bernabé Rico, 2020), Ema (Pablo Larraín, 2019), Frederica Montseny, la dona que parla (Laura Mañá, 2021), Las leyes de la frontera (Daniel Monzón, 2021) and Los miserables (Ladj ly, 2019). The facilities where they will be screened are the Ateneu Fort Pienc Civic Centre (Eixample), the Can Basté Civic Centre (Nou Barris), the Can Clariana Cultural Civic Centre (Sant Andreu), the Casa Groga Civic Centre (Horta - Guinardó), the La Sagrera - La Barraca Civic Centre (Sant Andreu), La Sedeta Civic Centre (Gràcia), Pati Llimona Civic Centre (Ciutat Vella), Trias i Peitx Civic Centre (Les Corts), Vil-la Florida Civic Centre (Sarrià - Sant Gervasi), Zona Nord Civic Centre (Nou Barris) and Auditori de Sant Martí (Sant Martí). In total, 61 screenings will be held.

In addition to the film screenings, and to delve deeper into the issues raised in them, there will be a series of colloquiums with the participation of professionals from the world of the Seventh Art, as well as open and free workshops. Among the monographs, there will be those to put into practice in various areas of audiovisual creation, such as animation, filmmaking, make-up and film criticism.
