International Music Competition of les Corts – 10th edition

The competition, which is open to all classical music interpreters between the ages of 18 and 35, provides encouragement and promotion for young musicians

The Barcelona City Council (les Corts district), the Centre d’Estudis Musicals A Tempo and the charity organisation Accociació per l’Altre Cor Cremat, have once again joined forces to organise the 10th edition of the International Music Competition of les Corts”, a competition that gains in recognition with every new edition.

This year’s competition has two categories, instrumental and vocal, and is divided into three well-defined phases that will take place in different locations with juries composed of specialists in each of the two categories.

The selection phase will take place on the 19th (vocal) and 20th (instrumental) of May in the Centre d’Estudis Musicals A Tempo. The sixteen interpreters who go through to the second phase (eight in each category) will perform in the Centre Cívic Can Deu, in the les Corts district, on the 21st (instrumental) and 22nd (vocal) of May.

The Auditori AXA will host the final concert on the 24th of May, in which the eight finalists will compete for the five awards. The winner of each category will receive 3000€, the two runners-up 1000€ each, and all four finalists will be offered the opportunity to partake in a series of concert programmes. There will also be a special prize consisting of a professional recording in CD format with Solfa Recordings as well as a special audience award.

Inscriptions should be made by email to the Centre d’Estudis Musicals A Tempo (concursoim@tempo.net) before the 2nd of May. The competition is open to classical music interpreters of all nationalities who are aged between 18 and 35 on the 31st of December, 2014.
