Facade of the Drassanes Reials

On June 22nd, the Museu Marítim invites you to immerse yourself once again in its heritage and its exhibitions

After almost three months with an important online activity, the museum will open its doors once again starting next Monday.

Next Monday, 22nd of June, the Museu Marítim de Barcelona will reopen its doors after closing on the 13th March, like the other facilities. The reopening will be done having adopted the necessary prevention protocols in light of Covid-19.

Located in the old Drassanes Reials, this museum promotes marine culture thanks to its extensive and diverse collection,  its key dissemination activities and its temporary and permanent exhibitions. Currently, among others, it hosts the exhibitions "Cantos de sirena", "Las arenas X", "La playa, un espacio cambiante", "Cataluña mar adentro" or "Barcos mercantes: la transición de la vela en el motor".

During the confinement, however, the Maritime Museum has proposed different online alternatives to continue enjoying its heritage, which can still be visited. For example, two virtual tours can be taken: the first allows visitors to contemplate the medieval spaces that currently house the exhibitions "Astilleros y Galeras" and "7 Barcos 7 Historias", and the second takes visitors to the Mirador space, where the exhibition "Antoni Benaiges, the master who promised the sea" is being held. The activity on its blog  has been equally incessant in the last weeks.

You will find more information on the timetable and the measures taken on the museum's webpage .
