Over 350 short films will be screened during the 22nd edition of the Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival.
It’s well known that good things come in small packages, and the Mecal Pro, Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival, takes it literally. Once again, it brings you the best selection of international and local short films. From 19 March to 5 April, Arts Santa Mònica will turn into the festival headquarters with a really varied programme. The film selection will be divided into different sections, some of which are going to compete. These are the International section (with the best productions from all over the world) Animation, Oblique (with the most creative short films) and Documentaries.
The rest of the programme, which is still pending confirmation, will be divided into other parallel sections, such as the Horror Special, LGTBI, Ecology or Catalan Talent, as the Mecal always backs local talent. There is also the Guest Country section, which this year is Austria. Over 350 short films that are added to the extra activities like conferences and workshops. More than two weeks of first-class short films.
Passes for the 22nd edition are already on sale on the Mecal Pro website and until 5 March they can be purchased at a special price of €15.00 euros. Keep an eye on the website so you can get the latest news about the programme.
