The neighbourhood of La Teixonera is full of dance

This is the eleventh edition of the Territori en dansa contemporània cycle, which will be held at the Teixonera Civic Centre.

If you love dance, you can't miss Territori en dansa, a festival that investigates, experiments and reflects on the arts of the body and movement. From 2 to 5 May, the Centre Cívic Teixonera is preparing to host the spring edition of Territori en dansa contemporània (TDC), focusing on creations in the field of classical and contemporary dance. In autumn, on the other hand, the Territori en dansa urbana (TDU) is held. Are you ready to discover what awaits you?

On 28 April, to start the festival, you can enjoy the piece Hoy llueve mañana yegua, by the choreographer and dancer Marta Santacatalina, in Plaça del Sol de Gràcia. This work is presented at the XV Setmana de la Dansa a Gràcia, in the framework of Territori vs. territori, a section of the TDC to make the cycle known beyond the limits of the neighbourhood.

On 2 May, at 7 p.m., the festival will be inaugurated with Danses fantasmes (amb llençol, però sense bola), a proposal by the students of the Choreo-Spectrum workshop at the Centre Cívic Teixonera, directed by Pere Faura.

On Thursday 3 May, five newly created pieces that form part of Dansateca await you. From 8 p.m. onwards, you can see Somewhere inside, by the creator Camile Hinsinger, in which the protagonist compiles different scenes, sensations and emotions seen in the past; Elelei Dance Theatre Company, a duet that fuses humour, dance theatre and acrobatics, performs the show A ciegas; Brevis, the creation of Homeland Dance Company, is a union of contemporary dance and baroque music; Tan a prop, by the company Júlia Godino and Alexa Moya, presents two performers who stand on a concave clay platform; and Radik-o, by Beatriz Cubero Mateo, shows a blushing and disconnected face that reflects the current reality of society.

On Saturday 4 May, the TDC Competition will be held. The finalists in this year's competition will present their works in front of the jury and the public, who will have the opportunity to vote for the proposal they like best. During the jury's deliberation, you can enjoy Agnès Balfegó's piece, Eixos, with music by Néstor Calderer. In addition, two double tickets will be raffled among the audience for the performance Aclucalls, by the company laSADCUM, which will take place at SAT! on the 24th or 25th of May, at 8 pm
The festival is also organising a section aimed at family audiences, on Sunday 5 May, at 12 noon.  The company Pia Fraus Europa presents a journey to immerse you in the natural diversity of the Amazon rainforest with Bichos do Brasil. A play with three actors and no text, but with more than fifty puppets and giant puppets.

Moreover, from 2 to 31 May, you will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition Territori en dansa, at the Centre Cívic Teixonera. This exhibition presents photographs, created by Cristina Martín, of performances and activities from previous editions of the TDC cycle.

Take the opportunity to welcome April and May with an immersion in dance, thanks to the set of pieces that will be performed there as part of the Territori en dansa contemporània (Territory in contemporary dance) cycle. All the activities are free of charge and the times vary according to the sessions, but prior registration is required. For more information, please consult the Territori en dansa website, the programme or the website of the Barcelona Civic Centre Network.
