Dialogue between religions in the Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia

The festival is running for the 16th time and will include 24 films with a discussion in a dozen spaces around the city.

The Directorate-General of Religious Affairs, alongside other organisations, founded the Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia in 2014. From the outset, the goal was to use cinema to shine a light on the religious situation in our country to promote dialogue between religions and social cohesion. The years have gone by and the Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia has grown, up to the point where this year’s festival, the 16th one, will include 24 films with discussions in 45 cinemas around Catalonia. Specifically, a dozen spaces of different kinds are taking part such as cinemas and civic centres. Most films that will be shown have been released recently or even ones that are yet to be released. In this way, they’re giving the topic a modern twist, making it easier for religions and cultures to coexist.

The Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia will run from 15 to 30 November at different times and in spaces around the whole city, such as Casa Elizalde, Centre Parroquial Sant Vicenç de Sarrià, Filmoteca de Catalunya, Centre Passatge, Centre Moral i Instructiu de Gràcia and Cines Verdi Park, as well as others. The programme also includes the presentation of the 2nd Spiritual Cinema Award in the Sagrada Família and La Paraula S’agrada, an event hosted by Màrius Serra.

Tickets can be bought at the place where the film is to be screened and will cost around €4, depending on the place. You can find all the information about the programme on the Spiritual Film Festival of Catalonia website.
