The UB's scientific video library

The University of Barcelona collects hundreds of videos on a wide range of subjects and genres.

A whole universe to be explored and discovered from home. This is what the University of Barcelona offers through its audiovisual portal, the UBtv. At the time of publication of this article, over 4,500 videos that practically cover all areas of knowledge are available online.

Undoubtedly, there are numerous academic events that you can find on this video library, as the UBtv includes hundreds of video files that have been recorded during the last four decades. Through this rich online repository we can get access to lectures, thesis defenses and to all sort of conferences, which despite having a certain technical level can arouse general interest, as it is the case of the recent conference The coronavirus in Wuhan: fears, facts and science, organized last February, when the epidemic was focussed in China. 

Nevertheless, the content in the Cultural section is aimed at a wider audience, as it includes informative recordings about some thematic series such as the chapters of Decoding the Periodic Table, The Gaia Mission, Sustainable Universe or Twelve Glances at the Universe. Some noteworthy video files are the conversations with some leading figures in Science and other available interviews to renown experts in different fields. You can find these files in The Interview and Fifteen minutes with. Besides, a collection of Documentaries, some of which take us back to the 1970s and 1980s. You can enjoy as well the best nature images from the different editions of the Foto Nat UB award.

The UB's video library also includes genres such as theatre, music, fiction and video creation. All the videos are available on the UBtv audiovisual portal.
