22 nights of performances at 3rd Tangent festival

The Festival de les Arts de l’Eixample fills civic centres with music, theatre, dance, circus and visual arts.

The third year of Festival de les Arts de l’Eixample, Tangent, is back stronger than ever. For 22 nights in June and July, civic centres around the Eixample district will host performances by a wide variety of artists, showcasing the richness of the Barcelona scene for an audience of all tastes and ages. The shows touch on various disciplines, including music, theatre, dance, circus and visual arts, including a range of styles and genres: jazz, soul, flamenco, electronic music, poetry, new playwrights, cabaret and circus, among others. The festival supports transgressive, innovative projects and, to highlight the risky shows mainly for a younger audience, they’ve come up with the idea of the TanJove line, with the best of this type of shows.

Tangent, which defines itself as a local festival, will be held at civic centres around the Eixample district: Ateneu Fort Pienc, Casa Golferichs, Cotxeres Borrell, Casa Elizalde, Sagrada Família and Urgell. The performances will be from Monday to Friday, 26 June through 25 July at various times. Some of the artists we’ll have the chance to see include: singer/songwriter Pavvla, the performance Conferència espectacular, the piece Prácticas de vuelo para acabar con el olvido by Chroma Teatre, circus act Back 2 classics by Planeta Trampolí, Les coses excepcionals with Pau Roca, soul group The Sey Sisters, and Billy Jean by La Intrusa.

All of the festival events are free but you must book ahead for some. More information is available on the Tangent website.
