‘La corrida de toros’ is a ceramic panel that you can see in detail thanks to Google’s gigaphoto system.

Virtual visits through the exhibitions at the Museu del Disseny

The museum is adding new exhibitions that can be visited through the Google Arts & Culture platform.

Since the lockdown began, the Museu del Disseny has been sharing virtual visits in order to be able to enjoy from home some past exhibitions or the ones that have had to be canceled. These days they have recovered some more to add to the collection. Through the Google Arts & Culture platform, born to divulge art internationally, you can visit: ‘Platos del día’, an exhibition that the Centre d'Artesania Catalunya exhibited in 2017, where gastronomy and design form a collection of ceramic pieces; ‘La curva mágica’, another exhibitions from 2018 of a series of furniture from different periods that have the curve as a common trait; and ‘Azulejos y oficios’, an exhibition that ended its last days confined to the well-known ceramic tiles representing Catalan trades from the 17th to the 19th century.

They also offer a virtual tour of the ceramic panel La corrida de toros, a piece that is part of the permanent exhibition ‘Extraordinarias!’. It is a crescent-shaped panel made up of 203 tiles representing a chivalrous bullfight from the early 18th century in the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. You can see it in very good quality thanks to Google’s gigaphoto system.

These virtual tours will be available until June 30th, 2020.
