The functions of the Municipal Council for Vocational Training are:

• To work on measures to promote educational equity by analysing new models and opportunities for young people in Barcelona. And to encourage the promotion of inclusive vocational training policies aimed at the most vulnerable groups and those who are difficult to integrate.
• To facilitate the interrelation between the different entities and institutions that work in the field of vocational training.
• To identify the aspects that need to be addressed in order to improve the quality of vocational training and labour market insertion in the city.
• To generate knowledge, foresight and debate on vocational training.
• To advise, recommend and collaborate in municipal policies, plans and programmes related to vocational training, especially in educational planning and in the adaptation of the training offer to the needs of the city's productive system.
• To promote and encourage innovation in the field of vocational training.
• Promote initiatives linked to the recognition and visualisation of contributions in the field of vocational training in the city.
