Marta Esteve Zaragoza (Presidency)
Marta Esteve (Barcelona, 1975) is the director of the Fundació Carulla, which promotes culture as a driver of social transformation. In this role, she leads iconic projects like the Museu Terra in L’Espluga de Francolí – a pioneering facility in local culture and sustainability – and has now opened a new exhibition hall in Barcelona. She is also the driving force behind Editorial Barcino, a publisher that re-releases Catalan classics.
With a degree in Law and Social Work and a specialisation in leadership and social innovation, Marta Esteve’s career has been dedicated to the social sphere and people’s well-being. Before joining the Fundació Carulla, she held positions of responsibility in organisations like Càritas, Fundació “la Caixa” and Fundació IReS, where she spearheaded initiatives in the fields of inclusion, child poverty, social justice and support for people in situations of vulnerability.
She is a board member of the Catalan Foundations Coordinator, where she leads the culture committee, and she is on the board and committee of the Teatre Lliure, which confirms her engagement with the country’s culture and foundation scene.
