Alfredo Álamo
Alfredo Álamo, born in Valencia in 1975, winner of eight Ignotus Awards, received the prestigious Domingo Santos Short Story Prize in 2019 and was shortlisted for the Alberto Magno Novella Award in 2020. He has published stories in magazines and in leading anthologies such as Aquelarre, Paura and Artifex, as well as novels including Kobold, Mañana será tierra [Tomorrow Will Be Earth], Tormenta [Storm], Plaga [Plague] and After Punk. He has also released two collections of flash fiction, Lunarias and Bestiario infame de la ciudad adormecida [Vile Bestiary of the Sleeping City]. El detective que tenía mariposas en el estómago [The Detective Who Had Butterflies in His Stomach] was his first foray into the bizarro genre, followed by Morder el bordillo [Biting the Kerb] and the short story collection La vieja sangre [The Old Blood]. His latest novels are Cámara Oscura [Darkroom] and El sueño de Escila [Scylla’s Dream].
