Mara Antón is a biologist and voracious reader, born in northern Spain and now based in Barcelona, who combines her love of literature with recreating fictional characters through cosplay. Though she has a scientific academic background, her knowledge of botany and mycology – together with her passion for fantasy, folklore and mythology – made her an ideal fit for the artisan fashion company she has worked with for over a decade: El Costurero Real. When she’s not working, you can find her organising themed events, reading a book or writing fiction – usually with a glass of wine nearby and a couple of cats for company.
