Martín Piñol, born in Barcelona in 1979, is a writer, screenwriter, comedian, director, teacher and El País columnist. He is a prominent figure in children’s and young adult literature in Catalonia, with 38 books published in multiple languages and countries. His most recent series include the adult/YA saga Ciutat de vampirs [City of Vampires], featuring El club de les ombres [The Shadow Club] and La Lliga de la llum [The League of Light], as well as the children’s series Cròniques de Pizzània [Chronicles of Pizzania].As a screenwriter, he has written all kinds of content – always with humour – including series, stand-up, late-night shows, children’s programming, game shows, documentaries and even TV3’s New Year’s Eve countdown broadcast.
