Maya G. Vinuesa

Maya G. Vinuesa, born in Cádiz in 1968, is an author, translator and professor of literary translation at the University of Alcalá. A specialist in Anglophone African literature and Afro-British literature, she is the co-director of Africanías magazine. She is the author of the novel Una habitación en Lavapiés [A Room in Lavapiés] and several short stories published in magazines and anthologies. She has also published the short-story collection Genes a la carta [Genes à la Carte], which explores possible responses to the ethical challenges posed by genetic editing, including issues such as embryo trafficking and selection and emerging eugenic practices.
