Pedro Berruezo

Pedro Berruezo, born in Murcia in 1976, is a journalist, screenwriter and writer who has spent the past three decades working as a columnist and critic, usually under the pseudonym John Tones. He has written about film, comics and video games for publications such as GQ, Fotogramas, Cinemanía, La Vanguardia and Espinof. He coordinated Superjocs Xtreme and has led several of his own media ventures, including the book series Mondo Pixel and the digital magazine Canino. Berruezo’s works on popular culture include El cine de terror contemporáneo [Contemporary Horror Cinema] and Empire: El cine de Charles Band [Empire: The Cinema of Charles Band]. He is also the author of the novels Nigromancia en el reformatorio femenino [Necromancy in the Girls’ Reform School] and Luz negra [Black Light], and of the short-story collection Grotespunk.
