The unreal in theatre, dance, poetry and puppetry
The performing arts can also tell fantasy stories. Though they sometimes go unnoticed in listings, theatre, performance and dance shows with fantasy themes are becoming increasingly popular. These productions experiment with formats and languages, offering audiences original, groundbreaking experiences with underlying messages. Producers in these fields will share experiences with us during this round table, moderated by actor and theatre director Quim Ribalta, and will even give us a live taste of their work. Choreographer Lucía García will show us a snippet of Col·lapse, with music by David Mormeneo and featuring Rebeca Barroso’s dancing. We will also see the première of the microtheatre show Ens veiem a Woodstock, by the Aplauso Atrás company, led by Marc Morote and Irene Miràs: a futuristic comedy about tourist time travel. The theatre company Endramats will also be performing its puppet show Això rai!, all about Catalan mythology. Tatiana Dunyó, Maria Prieto and David Pruna will bring to life a set of puppets created by illustrator Laia Baldevey. Renowned artist Anna Pantinat will join them with the show Goigs posthumans (Experimentació musical de poètiques expandides i ultratextos), which combines poetry with contemporary music, experimental pop, electronic music, Catalan traditional music and anime soundtracks, such as the ones composed by Kenji Kawai.
