The seventh edition of Dansa Metropolitana will be held in March in Badalona, Barcelona, Cornellà, El Prat de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, Granollers, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Sabadell, Sant Cugat, Santa Coloma, Terrassa and Viladecans. This is a unique metropolitan culture project which brings together the efforts of twelve municipalities to seek new audiences with a programme in public space, free activities, education projects and quality international performances making it one of the most complete and extensive dance festivals in the Spanish state.

A new feature in this year’s festival, with the slogan “From street to stage”, is the project Artèries, which places the emphasis on urban dance understood as a metropolitan phenomenon. Urban dances provide the thread for the festival and will help bring dance closer to all people and also serve to celebrate breakdancing becoming an Olympic sport.

The programme includes shows by national and international artists. Acts from abroad include the likes of Rachid Ouramdane and Olivier Dubois (França), the Sydney Dance Company (Australia), Sankofa Danzafro (Colombia), Xiexin Dance Theatre (China) and Club Guy & Roni (Holland), while the acts from the national scene are headed by companies and artists such as María Pagés, Pablo Messiez, Colectivo Milímetro, Alberto Cortés and Luz Prado.
