Fifty commercial premises to raise their shutters again

Fifty empty on-street premises are set to re-open with projects to reactivate the economy and add vitality to city neighbourhoods. The acquisition of these properties involved a municipal investment of 16 million euros through the “Shutters up” measure, with its goal over the next three years of re-opening 400 premises which are currently closed.

These are commercial properties located in strategic parts of the city and will form part of a public portfolio of officially protected ground-floor premises to be used to start commercial, social, cultural and economic activities and act as points which add vitality to their local neighbourhoods.

Rents will be below-market rates, with reductions for projects which include the renovation of the premises. The idea is to open the first call in 2022.

The premises are located all around the city, as follows: Ciutat Vella (10), L’Eixample (5), Sants-Montjuïc (3), Les Corts (16), Gràcia (2), Horta-Guinardó (6), Nou Barris (3), Sant Andreu (1) and Sant Martí (4).
