Jo Nesbø receives the Pepe Carvalho Award 2024
The nineteenth award is part of the noir fiction festival BCNegra, which this year pays homage to Norwegian literature. The Norwegian writer Jo Nesbø is known for his crime novels featuring the inspector Harry Hole.Since publishing The Bat in 1997, the first in the series of crime novels featuring Harry Hole, Jo Nesbø has been acclaimed as the finest crime novelist in Norway and is a leading figure in the latest wave of noir fiction writers around the world. His work has been translated into fifty languages and adapted for film and television.
With this award, the Norwegian author joins a list of big names writing in this genre, including Leonardo Padura (2023), Joyce Carol Oates (2021), Claudia Piñeiro (2019) and Andrea Camilleri (2014).
