Surroundings, environment and technology take centre stage at Llum BCN 2024

The new edition of the light arts festival is being held from 2 to 4 February and explores the relationship with surroundings, environmental concerns and the impact of technology. The festival includes some forty projects by thirteen national and international artists, plus a selection of students from the city's architecture and design schools. These works are unusual and ephemeral artistic creations where the raw material is light itself. Open your eyes wide as Llum BCN 2024 begins!

As in recent editions, the installations can mainly be found in the neighbourhood of Poblenou, with a special stop in the area around Les Glòries, where various facilities will be offering projects.

This year’s Llum BCN features thirteen professional installations and seventeen by schools. The artistic director is Maria Güell Ordis, with Juliette Bibasse as the guest international curator. This year’s image is the work of Menorcan artist Àlex Gifreu.

On the Llum BCN app you’ll find an interactive map to help you discover all the installations, along with all the practical information you need.

If you want to enjoy Llum BCN 2024 intensely, take the T4 tram to Poblenou and Les Glòries, but first check the list of works for this edition on the festival website.
