From now on, anyone who so wishes will be able to freely tour one of the most imposing buildings of 1900s Barcelona and visit the most striking parts of the prison, such as its yards, galleries, cells and central panopticon.

The open day’s times are:

  • Fridays: from 4 pm to 6 pm
  • Saturdays: from 10 am to 2 pm and from 4 pm to 6 pm
  • Sundays: from 10 am to 2 pm

There will be no open days on 11 and 24 September, on 25 December, on 1 or 6 January, on 7 or 9 April or on 24 June, as those dates are public holidays.

Guided tours too

The open days are complemented with guided tours that are regularly held and free as well, but which need to be booked from the La Model’s website: www.lamodel.barcelona.

Barcelona City Council, what is more, is also offering several guided tours specially designed for school children. Schools can check out the details and make bookings from the La Model’s website.
