Work gets under way to renovate the block of facilities in Sagrada Família
The work will allow for a reorganisation of the building’s uses, boost the connection with the local neighbourhood and reduce the demand for energy. Work should be completed at the end of 2024.
The complete revamp to the service building, located between the streets of Mallorca, Provença, Padilla and Lepant, will include:
- New façade and new passage giving access to the inner quadrangle of the block.
- Redistribution of facilities: a centre for the elderly on the ground floor and first floor, a community centre on the second and third floor and a children’s centre on the fourth and fifth floors and the rooftop.
- New stairs and installations.
- Thermal insulation and natural ventilation.
The work at the Mercat de la Sagrada Família will enable a large solar panelling rooftop to be installed, offering a more efficient passive energy solution and natural light for the stalls at the market.
The remodelling project for the block of facilities at the Sagrada Família follows the revamp to the library.
