Activities

The La Fabra Centre d’Art Contemporani’s activities programme is one of the centre’s fundamental pillars. The various programmes developed, such as Public, Education and Mediation Programmes, reflect a desire to explore what an art centre can be and what relationships it can establish with its social, cultural and regional surroundings, from different perspectives.

At La Fabra, we consider these programmes to be spaces where we can meet, think together and learn in other ways. Far from being activities that complement the exhibitions, these programmes are vital instruments for generating dialogues, sharing knowledge and enabling collective processes of reflection and creation. From artistic practice and research, we encourage close relations with the immediate context, the neighbourhood of Sant Andreu and the city of Barcelona, as well as with different representatives, communities and institutions.

Our commitment is to a process of conceiving contemporary art as a learning tool, a methodology for critical thinking and a shared way of life. In this regard, La Fabra cements its position as an open, accessible and constantly evolving public space that accompanies processes of creation, encourages participation and promotes a vibrant and transformational relationship between art and people.
