Much of the renovation of Poblenou’s industrial architecture is based on a reconstruction model which preserves its original spirit and, to a large extent, freezes the building in a renovation project which seeks to return it to its initial state, but in a more hygienic and, of course, environmentally-friendly way.

The main element in Parainfrastructura is a plastic structure held taut with cables to create water deposits. They represent the relationship between architecture and the elements and the garden. At the same time, the structure is a large light fixture which illuminates the space and casts the shadows and reflections of the water deposits throughout the surroundings.

The illumination draws on the large greenhouses of northern Europe, industrial and agricultural facilities which have become immense environments of light on a large scale, where light activates growth and cultivation.

The 21st century city must reconnect its inhabitants and resident species with the sun, represented here by a wild garden.
