Momentum means ‘moment’ in Latin: a very brief, ephemeral space of time. This is the idea behind an installation with light beams and sounds created by master's students in Lighting Design at the UPC. It is a multi-sensory reality that is constructed with concentrated and flashing beams of light; strokes of light that are a game, find, revelation and rhythm as well as an analogy of the current instantaneous world we live in; an invitation to users to discuss their own interpretation of the fleeting nature of the experiences around them, as ephemeral as light. This project, which aims to be a parable of contemporaneity, is installed in the metaphorical retreat in Parc del Centre del Poblenou, a closed space, deliberately far removed from the urban environment under construction, designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel, who enters into a dialogue with Momentum from an interesting and challenging conceptual antagonism.
