Tomeduchi is a material and light installation that captures the seabed’s characteristic metamorphosis of stillness and serenity, inspired by the dynamism created by the movement of jellyfish. This idea is realised through a series of sculptural pieces of varying sizes. The sculptures, suspended in the air, occupy the space in such a way that people can walk underneath and between them, creating an immersive experience. These artificial jellyfish have been constructed using a variety of textures, transparencies and reflective properties that mimic the movement of these creatures through synchronised LED lighting. Additional light sources further illuminate the sculptures, creating a moving water effect that is reflected in the surrounding space. It is like being at the bottom of the sea.

Gonzalo Cortez, Fabricio Atahualpa, Nicolás Vásquez and Rubén Sánchez are a group of artists who explore light and matter through architecture, audiovisual design and programming, with the intention of highlighting the richness of our oceans and the need to preserve them.
