The permanent collection at the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern (MEAM) is one of the most prestigious collections of figurative art in the world, both for the quality of the work on display and for the diversity of its authors.

The collection of works by living artists is the main treasure at the MEAM. This collection consists of nearly a thousand works by over three-hundred artists from the five continents, with painting and sculptures made using all sorts of materials and techniques.

The goal of the MEAM is to promote and disseminate figurative art from the 20 ^th and 21 ^st centuries in search of a new contemporary language which doesn’t renounce tradition, but rather taps into it to be able to leap forward in the new century.
