A vol d’ocell. Un viatge de negocis de Verdaguer i del Comte de Güell al centre i al nord d’Europa

 

L'exposició A vol d'ocell que fins el 28 d'octubre de 2009 es pot veure a la Casa Verdaguer de Vil·la Joana, ens mostra una faceta poc coneguda de Verdaguer, la d'un viatger modern i d'un excel·lent periodista.

Jacint Verdaguer, el 1884, emprengué un viatge a Berlín per acompanyar l’industrial i mecenes Eusebi Güell a la ciutat alemanya on anava a vendre una patent per fer velluts a doble cara que havia comprat a l'enginyer Ferran Alsina. En aquells moments, Europa tenia una bona xarxa ferroviària que va permetre als dos viatgers allargar la ruta fins a Sant Petersburg, la Venècia del nord, una ciutat de cultura al cor de la Rússia dels tsars que va sorprendre enormement al poeta de Folgueroles.

L’exposició, que porta per subtítol Un viatge de negocis de Verdaguer i del comte de Güell al centre i al nord d’Europa, ens aporta dades de com Verdaguer aprofità el viatge per impulsar la traducció del seu poema a llengües no llatines, esdevenint així el seu propi agent literari.
Visitar A vol d’ocell ens permet seguir el recorregut cronològic i geogràfic del viatge i veure la capacitat descriptiva de l’autor. Llegir alguns dels manuscrits que s’hi reprodueixen ens fa adonar de com el text, escrit amb llapis des del tren, va arribar gairebé sense correccions a l’editor.
L’exposició fa una aposta per a les noves tecnologies i ens permet visionar el viatge amb un vol virtual a través de Google Earth i navegar per alguns dels seus continguts a: http://www.avoldocell.cat/
