El Camp de la Bota, premi Ciutat de Barcelona d’Arts Plàstiques 2004, és un projecte en procés de l’artista Francesc Abad sobre el llegat del passat i la seva repercussió en la contemporaneïtat a partir de la dissecció d’un cas concret: l’afusellament de 1.706 persones, entre 1939 i 1952, per part de la dictadura franquista al Camp de la Bota, un indret de Barcelona on l’any 2004 es va emplaçar el Fòrum de les Cultures.

Aquell mateix any es va presentar la primera edició de l’exposició a Girona i a Lleida. El gener de 2005 el projecte va iniciar al Prat de Llobregat un itinerari de dos anys i mig per diferents sales d'exposicions i museus de les comarques de Barcelona.

Als municipis que van acollir l'exposició se'ls va convidar a afegir testimonis, recerca gràfica i documental sobre les persones executades al Camp de la Bota, i també, en general, sobre les víctimes de la repressió franquista. Tota la informació obtinguda es va arxivar al web www.francescabad.com/campdelabota.

Tot plegat posa en relleu el sentit ètic i polític del Camp de la Bota, un lloc de memòria marginat i entelat per la indiferència.

El Camp de la Bota forma part del programa d’activitats «Aparta la indiferència», una iniciativa de Programes de Memòria de l’Ajuntament de Barcelona.
