La Marina del Prat Vermell
The transformation of the Marina del Prat Vermell and its surroundings is one of the great projects that the city will face in the immediate future. It is a long-term development plan and therefore the management and monitoring of its implementation will be of vital importance in the context of a strategic vision such as the one proposed in the Coastal Plan.
The strategic and management instruments that regulate the transformation process in the area formed by the La Marina neighbourhoods should have an impact on the connection and integration of the area with its surroundings, in addition to promoting social and spatial cohesion and participative development. A full road map should also be proposed, for both the short and long term, in order to guarantee urban management adapted to the reality of the territory in such fundamental issues as habitat, the quality of the urban areas, and the connection of the area with the surrounding areas and the coastline.
What are we doing?

In regard to planning and management, the UMPs (Urban Mobility Plans) in sectors S2, S3, S8, S9, S10 and S14 have been definitively approved.

As for the subdivision of land, sectors S3, S8.1, S10, S14 (pending modification) are definitively approved, and land-subdivision projects in sectors 6 and 9 have been started.

In regard to housing built, under construction or licensed/in the process or being licensed, the figure reached 2,113 units (36 HR (Renovated Housing)-HPO (Social Housing) units / 980 HPO units / 1,025 available units. / 72 definitively approved). In regard to non-residential buildings, nearly 30,000 m2 have been awarded licences or are in the process of obtaining one. The Pere Tarrés Foundation has also obtained a licence, with a planned surface area of 14,400 m2.

In terms of urban development, 27,484 m2 of roads and 13,384 m2 of green areas have been completed in sectors 8 and 10.

Work is currently under way on 22,800 m2 of roads and 7,200 m2 of green areas in Sector 3

Work has also started on the first phase of the central Parc del Prat Vermell, with a surface area of 17,950 m2
