The Coastal Corridor

The entire coastline

Precontent

The project proposes the creation of an instrument for managing the demand and supply of transport to the city’s coastal areas within the framework of the Tourism Mobility Strategy. The diagnosis of the Coastal Plan helped to provide a comprehensive vision of the mobility that allowed the most critical points to be identified: saturation of some public spaces and beaches, saturation of some bus lines and certain metro stops, imbalance in the use of some spaces and services, and problems of coexistence in the case of non-motorised means of transport.

Therefore, the following is proposed:

  • Monitor demand for public transport space and services in collaboration with all stakeholders, offering measures to alleviate the effects of increased demand, especially during the high season.
  • Make proposals to improve public transport accessibility to the coast, especially in the area to the east. The instrument will have to include all the perspectives on the mobility of the different plans and projects integrated in the zones influenced by the coastal areas.
