The National Archives of Catalonia is the general archive of the Catalan administration and the national historical archive, under the authority of the Directorate General for Cultural Heritage of the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia.

Its mission is to acquire, recover, and manage documentation generated by the political and administrative activities of the departments, agencies, and companies of the Government of Catalonia, as well as to recover private documentation that, due to its testimonial and referential value, is of special importance for understanding national history.

The National Archives of Catalonia preserves personal collections as well as from associations and foundations, institutions and companies.
