After a renovation process following high standards that turned it into a model of efficiency and a meeting point for a more sustainable city, the Fàbrica del Sol demonstration building is now open to the public.

The building reflects the transition to energy sovereignty, from fossil fuels to renewable energy. It incorporates a wide range of sustainable solutions for improving energy efficiency, including the generation of renewable energy, water saving, biodiversity conservation and more sustainable mobility (it’s certified bicycle friendly), among other features.

Visitors to Fàbrica del Sol will learn all about the environmental solutions incorporated into the building and other public facilities, municipal policies that support these solutions, and strategies for living more sustainable lifestyles. Transformative action depends on many actors coming together.
