    The idea behind Il Giardinetto, created by the architects Alfonso Milá and Federico Correa, was to plant a magic garden inspired by the chestnut trees of southern France. They wanted an oasis in the middle of Barcelona, a unique and welcoming space where people could take a break from the frenetic pace of everyday life. That same year, 1974, Giardinetto won the FAD Interior Design Award, an honour he also received in 2012, making him the only local to win the award twice.
