    Montjuïc Cemetery is a reflection of Barcelona’s society and history over the past century and a half. Since 1883 to the present, the south-western cemetery has received as many burials as there are people in Barcelona today. Pantheons for the bourgeoisie, mausoleums for politicians, hypogea and tombs for artisans, and humble niches for the large majority coexist in a site that offers areas for memory and remembrance, as well as spaces for other religions and for atheists.
