REDIT4EDU
Reduced digital twins of indoor air quality, thermal comfort and energy efficiency for educational buildings
The objective is to develop low-cost reduced digital twins (RDTs) to improve indoor air quality (IAQ), thermal comfort (TC), and energy efficiency (EE) in educational buildings in Barcelona.
Center: Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya
The ReDiT4EDU project aims to develop low-cost reduced digital twins (RDTs) to enhance air quality, thermal comfort, and energy efficiency in educational centers in Barcelona. Using sensors to monitor real-time environmental conditions in classrooms, the project will predict their evolution and simulate various scenarios to optimize ventilation and thermal adaptation in an efficient and healthy way. The necessary system will be designed, including sensor selection, associated hardware and software development, and the implementation of predictive models and optimization algorithms. Validation will be carried out through pilot tests in classrooms of two schools. The results will help democratize the use of RDTs in educational facilities, improving the health, well-being, and sustainability of buildings.
