Osiris, God of Egypt. The Being that Remains Perfect
The "Osiris, God of Egypt. The Being that Remains Perfect" exhibition at the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona offers us an insight into the figure of Osiris and an in-depth look at the mythological and ritual aspect of this ancient king of Egypt.
In Egyptian beliefs, Osiris was the centre of a major myth that turned him into the god that dies and revives, while linking him with fertility and growth. His cruel murder led to the creation of the first mummy, in which the Pharaohs of the history of Egypt wanted to mirror themselves. In the Egyptian imaginary, Osiris not only became the god of the afterlife, but also "the being that remains perfect" due to having vanquished chaos, disorder and death. More information.
