Local, quality and fresh cinema in the 10th edition of Pantalla Barcelona

Eleven civic centres will take part in the event, and the films Alcarràs, Nosaltres no ens matarem amb pistoles and Escape room, among others, will be screened.

42 open-air screenings of 7 recent Catalan productions will fill the 10th edition of Pantalla Barcelona, a cycle organised by the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) that brings cinema to the neighbourhoods. The screenings will take place between 27 June and 25 July in different civic centres, and will be complemented by a musical selection by producer and DJ Dani Kongo.

The 7 films that can be seen on Pantalla Barcelona are Nosotros no nos mataremos con pistolas, by Maria Ripoll; Alcarràs, by Carla Simón; Escape room: la pel-lícula, by Hèctor Claramunt; Toscana, by Pau Durà; La innocència, by Lucía Alemany; La voluntaria, by Nely Reguera and Pan de limón con semillas de amapola, by Benito Zambrano. The selection is a commitment by the Barcelona Civic Centre Network, with the collaboration of the Catalan Film Academy, to quality films and local productions, with films on social issues that deal with current problems in the form of comedy or drama. It is worth highlighting the important female presence behind the cameras, with 4 of the 7 films directed by women; and also on screen, with stories starring actresses such as Carmen Machi (La voluntaria), Ingrid García-Jonsson (Nosotros no nos mataremos con pistolas), Eva Martín and Elia Galera (Pan de limón con semillas de amapola) or Laia Marull and Carmen Arrufat (La innocència).

The civic centres Ateneu Fort Pienc, Can Basté, Can Clariana Cultural, Casa Groga, Josep Maria Trias i Peitx, La Sagrera "La Barraca", La Sedeta, Pati Llimona, Vil-la Florida, Zona Nord and Auditori Sant Martí will participate in this edition. For more information, click on the link.
