Artificial intelligence for music creation

Artificial intelligence for music creation

Artificia, the new platform for the dissemination and promotion of augmented creativity, organizes three free online activities.

Technological innovation gives wings to all areas of society and today, in the midst of the digital revolution, any advance opens the door to new forms of creation and artistic expression. In this context, the platform Artificia has been created as a joint effort between companies, and public and private institutions from the technological and arts sector. The aim of this new platform is to disseminate and promote augmented creativity, i.e. the interaction of artificial intelligence with artistic creativity. As part of a promotion campaign, during the months of March, April and May, Artificia has organized three public online activities (all carried out in English), highly recommended for professionals from the technological, cultural and artistic sectors, where the relationship between artificial intelligence and musical creation will be explored.

To open the series, on the 10th of March, the session will be dedicated to improvisation through artificial intelligence. Internationally renowned music and research professionals will analyse the complexity of the human creative process, the spontaneity of improvisation and the challenges of trying to emulate it through machines. An exciting inaugural debate moderated by Ramón López de Mántaras, research professor at the Artificial Intelligence Research Institute of the CSIC and popularizer.

The second session, on the 8th of April, focuses on musical composition with artificial intelligence and its creative potential. Ramon Sangüesa, researcher and professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning, will moderate the debate.

To close this cycle, on the 6th of May, several speakers will talk about their experience in the use of artificial intelligence to improve musical learning and make it accessible to everyone. A debate on gender and inclusion moderated by Sergio Giraldo, researcher at the Music Technology Group of the Pompeu Fabra University.

Artificia opens with three interesting debates that exemplify the application of technology in the world of art and creation. More information on this link.
